TRAINING IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE IN INDIA

As of now there are only few medical centres offering training programmes in the speciality of Emergency Medicine in India.Of course None of them are recognised by the MCI(Medical Council of India).

Christian Medical College ,Vellore was one of the first in taking the initiative of coming of with a distinct Accident & Emergency Medicine Department and also the training programmes in this speciality for doctors. It is offering a one year diploma Programme in Emergency Medicine called FEM.(Fellowship in Emergency Medicine).They will select the aspiring doctors interested in Emergency Medicine after a short period of Observer ship / attachment for 2-6 months during which period , you will be assessed of your keenness to become an Emergency physician.It has a level I trauma centre, a full-fledged independent clinical unit with 39 beds and is the largest emergency department in the private sector in India.
